Bawl of calf
and feline cough
stark strange
maze of swamp
confirm the dirge
before limp leaf
distorts
and duck wings whirr
in a bateau
in the black trembling
Spanish moss
hands hanging
a wish to cower
and grab for solid
a hold
as forks are
no way divulged
shape and night
collide
in time to paddle
stroke
Caddo maze
of black lace
with diamond eyes
frog croak
smell of rot
swallowing a bateau
in dark diversity.
