Beans curling in the stingy heat,
drying,
ground cracked,
sun coming down,
nobody here but me,
rocking quietly
with my good sweet tea,
that doily getting yellow,
and that hen that won't stay home,
just like Ella, all them kids,
where'd I put the pictures,
hot, whew.
