I have revised and renamed the workbook that I have been using in my classes for many years. This workbook like my English Syntax doesn't depend on a previous knowledge of English syntax, but those doing the exercises will probably benefit more from them if they have completed the work in my English Syntax first. Through the explanations, examples, and exercises in this workbook, I emphasize using logic to connect sentences and teach users to connect the information of their proseand thus please readers by the clarity of their writing. I introduce various grammatical concepts and direct the user to construct sentences according to specific directions and specific examples. Gradually the sentences become more complex as users moves from writing with one structure to writing with that structure in compound and series.
